House Bill 245 Introduced

03/05/2025 2:44 PM | Anonymous

A HUGE thanks is owed from KAPA to Representative Ken Fleming. Yesterday, HB 245, a KAPA 2025 legislative initiative to eliminate balance billing for emergency ambulance calls, was introduced in the House of Representatives. This is a short session so we really need to start a big push with our legislators.

Now we need everyone to reach out to their Representative and ask them to sign on as a co-sponsor or at least commit to supporting HB 245. This would give us a tremendous amount of momentum but also shows the legislature that we are united on the balance billing issue.

If you have a relationship with your local Senator it definitely will not hurt to go ahead and contact them as well. This would expedite things when the bill passes the House to the Senate.

Below are the documents that have been created for you to reference and distribute while you are having those conversations with your local officials and legislators. Since there were some recent changes to the membership and districts, if you have any question about who your legislator is go HERE.

MORE TO COME AS HB 245 PROGRESSES.....
